Castles Made of Sand

The Tel Aviv Centennial Celebrations continue with a unique exhibition at the Eretz Yisrael Museum in Ramat Aviv. The World Sand Sculpting Academy (I kid you not) in Zoetermeer, Holland has created replicas of some of Tel Aviv's early architectural landmarks.

Pictured below is a replica in sand of the legendary Gymnasia Herzliya School and a young Tel Avivian with a replica of the original Habima Theater and the lottery on the sand dunes for the original plots of land that became Tel Aviv.

The exhibit (open til the 18th) is clearly not something you're going to see everyday so T in Tel Aviv suggests making the time for a visit. Not sure why the museum waited to open this show until after Sukkot vacation because kids will love it.
