A few months ago the weekly Williams Sonoma e mail newsletter advertised a stovetop non stick mini waffle pan . My friend Patti of Tchochkes also received the e mail and both of us were thinking this is another gotta have gadget.
Last week, T in Tel Aviv returned from vacationing in the U.S. with a new mini waffle pan from Williams Sonoma. It didn’t take long for the young Tel Avivian (remember him from earlier posts?) to get his first dose of stovetop waffles. This is a GREAT pan! It works! No sticking and easy clean up!!! What a pleasure not to have to wait for the orange light to come on!! Even better is not having to use a transformer since the pan doesn't use electricity! The key is not to overfill each waffle slot with batter.
On my flight to Tel Aviv I was reading O Magazine and sure enough there are other stovetop waffle pans on the market. Available from JCPenney my favorite is the pan featuring 7 different faces rather than the traditional waffle pattern.
